Kyoichi is a 27 year old who works as a diplomat. He has been living abroad for 14 years. Stern and serious, Kyoichi comes off as cold and distant, but most of that is on purpose. He's dealt with a lot, and he purposely keeps people at arms length. He's also quite pushy, especially in the beginning. In contrast, he loves to tease the MC quite sadistically, often smirking or snickering at her. When he does start to open up, he gets easily embarrassed and has trouble communicating. Kyoichi's not one for grand gestures, so he demonstrates his affection with small, everyday actions that show just how attentive he is. He tricks the MC into posing as his wife after pretending to offer her a job as his assistant.
Summary
It's been 3 months since the MC moved in to a room above her Uncle Kuni's bar. She have been busy searching and interviewing for a job but with little success. One day, a childhood friend of Uncle Kuni's (and the other guys) visits the bar after moving back to Japan from overseas. By the end of his visit, he offers you a job. Unfortunately, the job is to become his fake wife for a month. Why did Kyoichi manipulate you into becoming his temporary wife? Does it have something to do with his family's inheritance? Is Kyoichi really as cold and calculating as he appears to be or is he hiding his true self? And what the heck is a bracken mochi girl?
When their fake marriage starts, he's willing to do whatever it takes to make the ruse look real. That includes physical contact when he knows others are watching. When he starts falling for the MC though he drastically cuts back on this. It's like he no longer knows how to touch her because he's so scared of what he's feeling. It's not surprising that he doesn't want to get close to someone; his mother is extremely ill, his father left them, and his aunt and cousin are terrible to him. But what's so sweet about him though is he immediately starts taking care of the MC. Putting her to bed, making her hot cocoa, checking to make sure she has all she needs. He's as good with the little details as she is, and he remembers everything she says and does.
The MC is strong in this route. She cares about him and his health, even when she doesn't like him at first. She cares about his mother and does everything she can to help. And when she finally understand her own feelings, she's the first to confess to Kyoichi.
