Ritsu is an odd one. One of the very first things he says when he meets the MC is that Koichi isn't for her. He says the most random things and then just drops the conversation and walks off. He's always losing his wallet, and falls asleep just about anywhere. He's really just a laid back guy that does things his own way and rarely gets riles up about anything.
Ritsu appears aloof at first, but from the beginning, he's a very thoughtful guy. He's an extremely perceptive person, and he picks up on the MC's moods really easily. It may seem like it comes out of nowhere, but he knows when to say exactly what the MC needs to hear. The main thing is he's an excellent listener, and he cares about what the MC has to say.
Summary
Ritsu's been best friends with Koichi since they were in high school. He knows a lot about Koichi's likes and reactions, and when he sees Koichi treating the MC poorly, he takes it upon himself to help their relationship. How he does that is to pretend to steal the MC away, thinking that this will wake Koichi up and get him to react.
This route is really different from other released routes. There isn't as much emphasis on the MC's job. Also, the MC doesn't divorce Koichi immediately, but she also doesn't try as hard to work things out either. That doesn't mean she has an affair (far from it actually), but she is able to distance herself quite a bit from Koichi. She moves out, refusing to move back in until he calls off his affair.
