Happy Birthday to Me~

My Birthday Cake <3 br="br">

Another year for me has come! Today, I'm celebrating  my 2*th Birthday. Of course, my age's still a big secret, it's up for you to guess it ^o^v

It's raining today and it's a bit cold. Well, it's always raining when my birthday arrives and nothing new to that lol. But it won't be the reason for me to stop celebrating my birthday with my family and extended family.

During afternoon, Hubby, Yohann and I went to mom's house in order to have a little gathering for my birthday. My little brother also gave me some souvenirs as gifts that he bought from Bohol. Then during Dinner Time, we (Hubby's Family) went to Luk Foo and celebrated my birthday there. Time flies fast when you're really enjoying. I really had fun, I hope that next year would be much more fun than this.

I wanna thank God for giving me another year to be productive and for the guidance and love that he always gave to me and to my family.  Thank you to everyone who remembered my birthday! Each greeting (thru pms, wall post, texts) really meant a lot to me and absolutely made my day. You all made me feel so special and loved. Thank you all ^o^ v

Chu - Chua Nuptial

We went to a wedding yesterday and we haven't been able to attend an event yesterday that is being held at SM North Edsa - Skydome. The name of the event is called Oh-No! Manga Cosplay Camp.

I won't be able to tell any recap regarding the Oh-No! Manga Cosplay Camp so I'm gonna tell you something about the wedding that we went to. The wedding that we attended was the Elder Sister of Hubby's Best Friend. The wedding ceremony started at 3pm at The Basilica of San Sebastian in Plaza Del Carmen, Quiapo Manila and the reception follows at The Century Seafood Restaurant of Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila. We just went to the reception (LOL) instead of going to church for the wedding ceremony >.< There's a lot of vacant time after the wedding ceremony (imagine we're gonna wait for almost 5 hours if we went to the church to attend the wedding ceremony) so Hubby decided that we should just go directly to the reception instead.

We really had fun during the reception - eating delicious food, and meeting some of Hubby's Batch mates during his College Days in Chang Kai Shek.

Before we leave at 11pm, we ask Wendell (Hubby's Best Friend) to take a picture of us. We've got stranded for about 30 minutes (instead of leaving around 10pm) because of the heavy rain and the combo of strong wind.

While on our way home, we saw some trees lying on the street and also some flooded streets (only in the Philippines, LOL). We arrived at around 12 midnight and we're glad that we got home safe and sound.

Love this shot. Too bad, I wasn't looking at the camera >.<

Otaku Encure: CosDance and Cosplay Competition

The Organizer of this event was the Naruto Cosplayers PH (NCPH), the Red Cloud Events and Management in partnership with SM City Valenzuela.

The objective of the Naruto Cosplayers PH is also requesting our friends, supporters, members and fellow cosplayers to bring school supplies for donation to the next NCPH outreach.

This was the first ever cosplay event at SM Center Valenzuela and I can say that I really had fun even though it's raining hard that day.

Here are some of the few snapshots that I was able to take during the event.

I just won an awesome eyemask LOL

Got bored and joined my friend's guessing game. And the prize? A stunning eye mask LOL! I just won this eye mask yesterday from one of my friends in Facebook. I didn't expect to win though. I just don't know when can I claim this one because I won't be able to go to the con on the 29th on SM Megamall because Hubby and I have a wedding to attend to on that day.

The eyemask that I won lol How awesome is that? xD

I want this one lol this one's way too funny

Hero Face Off 2012

HERO Face Off 2012 was held last July 7 at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 1, Mandaluyong City. The event is organized by HERO TV in partnership with Anime Alliance Philippines.

The event featured free exclusive screening of HERO TV’s two anime titles - Gintama the Movie and Yu-Gi-Oh 3D Bonds beyond Time – free popcorn and softdrinks included.

With people started to arrive later in the afternoon, Megatrade Hall 1 was literally jam-packed from inside resulting to barring of people without wrist bands from entering the cosplay venue. Not to mention, lot of cosplayers, photographers and con-goers loitered around outside the venue and long queues to sponsored booth.

Here are some of my personal favorites:

New Family Car

Introducing our new family car, the Toyota Innova. Hurray! This car was just released yesterday, June 30. We're planning to have a trip in Baguio (with Hubby's Family and relatives) by mid August (long weekend FTW!) and at the same time have a car blessing there in some Chinese Temple. This car is really a must for bigger families like us. FYI: we're living with Hubby's Family.

Wig Guide

~*~ Wig Types ~*~

Full Wig
A full wig is worn over the whole head has both bangs and a back-portion. This is the type that most people wear with their costumes. Of all the wigs, this is the most basic and the only one that is commonly used on its own.

Half Wig
Half wigs have no bangs or sidelocks. They're partial wigs that cover only from the crown of the head back, These can be worn under full wigs to create a color gradient or more radical color change.

Vance
Vances are bundles of hair gathered onto clips to use with full wigs. With these wig pieces, you can create ponytails and twintails (pigtails).

Common Mistakes in Buying Wig

The first step in using a wig is purchasing one! Wig shops stock man different colors, types and styles so you may find yourself confused the first few times you visit, It helps a lot to familiarize yourself with wig types, designs, part styles, and materials before you even set foot in the store. Think before you buy and be careful to avoid some of the common pitfalls.

Almost all of us end up having at least one of these harrowing experiences in our cosplay careers, so do your best to learn from the mistakes of others. In order to avoid mistakes, it is best to decide on your wig style, material, length and cut beforehand.

Here are some common mistakes in buying wig:

1. The wig is too short
~> Be sure to check the length of all parts of the wig you intend to buy. Be sure to purchase a wig long enough to use for the longest-part of the style you want to achieve.

2. The real color is different than the picture
~> People often make this mistake when buying online. Color examples and photos aren't always the best indicator of a wig's actual look but most shops sell sample swatches or have real stores where you can see the colors in person.

3. I thought I'd dye it but.... it won't dye
~> Quite a few low-end synthetic wigs can't be dyed with traditional hot-water dying methods. If you want to dye a wig, you ought to buy a heat-resistant wig.

4. When i used a dryer, the hair melts!
~> This sad story is all too common when people fail to check the material of their wigs. Regular synthetic wigs melt under high temperatures. Please handle them with care and only apply low heat.

Wig Tutorial: Basic Dango

A pretty dumpling arrangement

By staggering the placement and size between the right and left sides, you can achieve a cute asymmetrical look.

1. Collect hair for the small dango.

After slicing and blocking off the hair you want to use, tie it off in a loose, messy ponytail.

Wig Tutorial: Basic Razor Cut

An arrangement for long hair

1. Begin by placing your razor 15-20cm below the jawline and then pull it lightly through the hair in a falling motion.
*If you hold the hair at the end, the razor will move through it more smoothly.

2. Lightly gather blocks of hair and hold them back at a 45 degree angle before using the same falling razor stroke.
