30 Day Anime Challenge - Day 3

Day 3: Your anime crush

I have so many anime crush but I will only put some of them. Anyway, my anime crushes are:

1.] Mamoru Chiba (from the anime Sailor Moon) is the reincarnation of Prince Endymion and Usagi Tsukino's love interest. He is the civilian identity of Tuxedo Mask. In the 30th century, he will be known as King Endymion. He is the future father of Chibiusa Tsukino. He became my first anime crush because this was the time that I first got addicted in watching anime.

The anime tends not to develop Mamoru as much, but shows him as more social than his manga counterpart. He demonstrates interests in a variety of subjects and emerges as smart. He also "dates" Rei Hino for a short time before the revelation of all the past-life identities, though he believes they are just friends. Mamoru often got into fights and arguments with Usagi, and loves to annoy her and call her "Dumpling Head". As Tuxedo Mask, he would often show up to help her when she was at a disadvantage against a Youma, giving her the opportunity she needs to destroy them. When Zoisite began seeking rainbow crystals, Tuxedo Mask would often show up to take them.

2.] Haruka Ten'ou (from the anime Sailor Moon) better known as Sailor Uranus is one of theOuter Soldiers, and the Keeper of the Space Sword.

Haruka is very tomboyish, strong, and she hates anything feminine.

Haruka is formally introduced in the Sailor Moon S story arc, although she appears in silhouette alongside Sailor Neptune in the final Sailor Moon R episode, which acted as a "teaser" to Sailor Moon S.

Haruka is older than the Inner Senshi, already in high school when the Inner Soldiers are still in junior high. She originally attended the private Mugen School, along with Michiru and Hotaru. She is very tomboyish and has a love of speed; she runs track and races many kinds of vehicles. She can be deeply suspicious of others and can often appear cold in this regard, although she will strongly defend anyone who has earned her trust.

As a Sailor Soldier, Uranus' tactics (along with Neptune's) can be controversial and morally ambiguous, which puts her at odds with Sailor Moon and the other inner Senshi - particularly since they can frequently involve sacrificing lives. This includes willing to let the Death Buster's victims die if their Heart Crystals were the ones they were searching for, wanting to kill Hotaru because she had the Sovereign of Silence within her and betraying Saturn and Pluto in an attempt to join with Galaxia and then double-cross her.

Haruka's name means 'Far Sky King', although her attacks do not exactly reflect this.

3.] Ken Hidaka [(飛鷹 健, Hidaka Ken) from the anime Weiss Kreuz/Knight Hunters which is known in the Philippines] is a fictional character in the anime Weiss Kreuz. He is part of the four member group, Weiss, who are florists by day and assassins by night. His character design is based on his seiyuu, Tomokazu Seki, a member of the band by the same name, Weiss.

Ken is about 19 years old with brown hair and blue-green (in the anime) or brown (in the manga) eyes. He is athletic, being an avid soccer player, and tends to be hot-headed, rushing into things without giving it a second thought. Although he has a short temper, he is very cheerful and friendly. He is pure hearted, kind natured, shy and quite sentimental. He loves kids and teaches a kids' soccer team when not in Weiss. He also trusts easily, a weakness that has been exploited more than once.
Ken has a strong sense of morals (it's stated that he dislikes liars) and is the only one who feels conflict over becoming a killer. As the story progresses, guilt over his actions begins to weigh him down. At the end of Verbrechen & Strafe, the first signs of insanity and him going berserk can be seen. In the dramatic CDs, his struggle to keep his growing bloodlust in control shows how much his life as an assassin has begun to corrode his soul.

Ken's mother died when he was very young and because of his attachment to her, he fell into a depression. In hopes of pulling him out of it, Ken's father sent him to live at a Church with Sister Amamiya, a nun who specialized in child psychotherapy. Due to his time spent there, he grew up with a bit of a religious background -he believes in God, Sin, Heaven, Hell, and many other staples of a 'Catholic' faith (in Dramatic Precious 1, he states that he is a Christian but has neglected the teachings, yet in Gluhen before the final mission, he's seen saying a prayer at his bedside before he leaves).

Ken used to be a superb goalkeeper and was considered the number one goalie in the J-league. Unfortunately, during an important game, he was mysteriously drugged, resulting in a terrible performance. Due to this, Ken was blamed for throwing the game away deliberately and was banned from the J-League.
Kase Koichiro, his best friend and another player on the team, claimed that he would help Ken find the ones who had done that to him. However, right when they were about to find them, they were interrupted. Kase was kidnapped while Ken was left for dead in a burning building. Ken was rescued by Kritiker agents who trained him to be a member of Weiss (the White Hunters). Considered dead to the world, he took up the mantle as an assassin to get revenge for his failed hopes and now unreachable dreams.

By the time Gluhen rolls around, Ken's hold on his sanity is nearing an all-time low: he actively seeks out the others in the two years between Weiss's collapse and Omi's rebuilding of the team in order to find someone to keep him in check. His short temper is even shorter, and he snaps at anyone who remotely angers him (he takes his anger out on Yohji who said that Ken had wasted the past two years and happily beats Kyo to the ground because he wasn't satisfied with an answer Kyo gave him). It isn't until Aya shows up to stop him that Ken makes an attempt to pull himself out of the pit he's dug himself into, and as a result, he clings to Aya as a means to regain some semblance of control.

4.] Shouji Toukairin [(東海林 将司 Tōkairin Shōji) from the anime You're Under Arrest] is a
mountain rescue specialist and lieutenant, he met Natsumi during a rescue mission on a tower. They would later encounter each other once again when Shouji is temporarily stationed at Bokuto Precinct as an instructor for rescue courses. It is then discovered that Shouji is the only character that has the physical strength and appetite to surpass Natsumi's. Although Natsumi initially views him as a nuisance and a rival, they eventually fall in love. Despite being frequently absent in places like the Himalayas, he and Natsumi have a strong relationship. Later on, Shoji named a monkey he befriended as Natsumi. He enjoys eating bananas.

Shouji is an expert in mountain climbing and rappelling and, one time, uses his time in Bokuto Station to practice these two techniques.
He is also an expert in Kendo, being able to cut a banana in half with a Shinai with extreme concentration (self-proclaiming that he can only do it at a 50% success rate) but admitted defeat against Kachou at his challenge against him despite Kachou was not in his best shape.

5.] Hotohori [ (星宿), from the anime Fushigi Yuugi] is the fourth Emperor of Kōnan, Emperor Cai Pi (彩賁帝 Saihitei) has a reputation for his beauty and his narcissism. Eighteen years old, he was born in Eiyou (Rong-Yang), the capital city of the Konan Empire, on April 2. As one of the Celestial Warriors of Suzaku, he can summon a sword; as such he is a powerful swordsman and has been additionally trained in martial arts since childhood. His birth name is Xing-shu (星宿 Seishuku, xīngxiù) based on the star Star (星).

Hotohori first hears of the Priestess of Suzaku at a young age and comes to believe that the priestess would become his true love and the one who would love him for himself instead of his title. Upon meeting Miaka, he falls in love with her and becomes willing to do anything for her sake. As such, he becomes a rival to Tamahome for Miaka's affection, but eventually concedes when he realizes that Miaka will only ever love Tamahome. Hotohori eventually marries a woman named Houki, who some believe bears a striking resemblance to Nuriko. He is killed by Nakago during the battle between Konan and Kutō, leaving Houki pregnant with his son Boushin.

Raised with little warmth, Hotohori appears cold, reserved, and harsh, particularly when acting as the Emperor of Konan, but actually shows himself as a warm, peace-loving and gentle person. Known as a responsible ruler and capable of dealing with political affairs, Hotohori often places the well-being of his subjects first and forgets his own needs in the process. However, Hotohori has limited understanding of the world as a result of being raised in a sheltered environment. After meeting Miaka and the other Celestial Warriors of Suzaku, he is gradually able to act as himself and finds true friends.

In Fushigi Yûgi Eikoden, a young boy named Shu Eian, who often visits a local cemetery, emerges as Hotohori's reincarnation (as a commoner, as he had always wished). During the assembly of the Suzaku Celestial Warriors he returns last, despite Nuriko's threat to kill him with his sword when he doesn't come out.

6.] Van Fanel [(バァン・ファーネル Van Slanzar de Fanel) from the anime Vision of Escaflowne] is the young half-Draconian king of Fanelia who must learn to cope with drastic changes in his life after Fanelia is destroyed by Zaibach. He pilots Escaflowne, a Guymelef made by the mysterious Ispano tribe which can transform into a flying dragon. He earns his right to pilot Escaflowne through a blood pact which connects his body and soul to Escaflowne. Due to the blood pact and Hitomi's influence, Van becomes injured when the Escaflowne is damaged, and these wounds will not close until Escaflowne is repaired. Consequently, if Escaflowne is destroyed, Van will die.

His destiny and Hitomi's are linked, and he is initially dependent on Hitomi's clairvoyant abilities, which save his life more than once. He also holds a grudge against Folken for leaving his native kingdom of Fanelia for Zaibach and Dornkirk for his grand ambitions. Due to being half-Draconian, Van is able to manifest a pair of feathered wings which enable him to fly.

7.] Li Syaoran [(李 小狼 Ri Shaoran, Chinese Pinyin: Xiǎoláng) from the anime Cardcaptor Sakura] is the supporting character and a distant relative of Clow Reed, the creator of the Clow Cards. As such, he believes that he should be the one to inherit the Clow Cards and tries to capture the cards for himself. As the series progresses, Syaoran comes to respect Sakura and becomes her friend and ally. He eventually falls in love with her, though she is slow to realize it due to her own feelings for Yukito.

Initially, in the anime, Syaoran has a crush on Yukito (the attraction to him was because of the high moon power inside of Yukito). Only later, at the beginning of the third season of the "Cardcaptor" series, does Syaoran begin to fall in love with Sakura, and make his feelings visible to viewers. In the manga, Syaoran begins to develop feelings for Sakura around the time of the Erase card's capture. After Yukito rejects Sakura's feelings, Syaoran comforts her and Sakura slowly reciprocates his feelings. Near the second-half of the series, Syaoran confesses his feelings to Sakura. With Sakura now undisputed master of the cards, he decides to return to Hong Kong. At the end of the series, he returns from Hong Kong a few months later to reunite with Sakura. In the anime adaptation, Syaoran manages to catch several cards by playing a major role in helping Sakura seal them. He is allowed to attempt the final judgment but fails. Syaoran is shown to have similar powers to Sakura, such as sensing Clow Cards and magical auras, is a skilled martial artist, and wields a sword which he can use to cast spells when equipped with incantation papers. He can also use a device dubbed a "lasenboard" in Cardcaptors, which can detect and direct him to magical entities. A running gag is Kero calling him kid.

In the English Cardcaptors adaptation, he is renamed to "Li Showron" and he is introduced in the first episode, as the male lead. He is also called a "Cardcaptor," despite his not being chosen by Kero as such. Another incarnation of the character appears as the protagonist of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, another manga series by Clamp.

In Japanese media, Syaoran is voiced by Motoko Kumai. Syaoran is voiced by Rhys Huber during the Clow Cards arc and the first movie, by Jordan Kilik in the Sakura Cards arc, and by Mona Marshall in the second movie.

8.] Lantis [(ランティス Rantisu), from the anime Magic Knight Rayearth Season 2] Zagato's younger brother, is a powerful Cail or Kailu (magic swordsman) who journeyed abroad for a great deal of time and returned to Cephiro after meeting Eagle in Autozam. Lantis has made his first appearance in season two when he returned to Cephiro. He desired to remove the Pillar System in order to prevent the tragedy and pain that Zagato and Princess Emaurade had experienced. He is regarded with suspicion due to his reclusive nature. Nevertheless Hikaru approaches him, though at first it's because she feels extreme guilt about killing his brother. Though his intimidating manner can be off-putting, he is gentle at heart; in fact, he forgives Hikaru and the other Knights for Zagato's death.

In the anime version he falls in love with Hikaru, which she reciprocates, while in the manga there are only hints of any romance between the two. At the end of the manga, Lantis asks Hikaru how people of Earth convey love. When she explains that they usually marry, Lantis asks if there is anyone she'd like to marry, to which Hikaru replies that she'd like to marry everyone as she loves them all.

Lantis also appears in Tsubasa. His name comes from the Mazda Lantis.

9.] Koenma (also known as Jericho in the Philippine dubbed from the anime Yu Yu Hakusho/Ghost Fighter in the Philippines) King Enma Jr., usually addressed as Koenma (コエンマ, meaning "Enma, Jr.") is the son of spirit realm ruler King Enma, and the one who takes responsibility of his father's work when he's away. Koenma usually appears as a toddler with a pacifier in his mouth, though he is said to be at least 700 years old. He can also transform into a young adult form, retaining his pacifier but losing his hat, showing the English letters "Jr" on his forehead. Koenma acts as Yusuke's boss, assigning his cases. His pacifier is a receptacle, which Koenma constantly imbues with his spirit energy. It can create a powerful barrier which Koenma states is to fend off a dark evil sometime in the future. In the anime television series, Koenma is voiced by Mayumi Tanaka in Japanese and Sean Michael Teague in English. In the English dubs of the movies he is voiced by Ian Hawk in Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie and by Eric Stuart in Yu Yu Hakusho the Movie: Poltergeist Report.

10.]  Kamui Shirou (from the anime X) is the protagonist of X, Kamui Shirō (司狼 神威 Shirō Kamui) is a powerful esper whose destiny is to decide whether the world should be destroyed so it may be reborn without humanity or save the world so humanity can continue to live in its current state.

In Kamui's childhood, he lived in Tokyo. Shortly after moving in, Kamui became fast friends with Fūma and Kotori Monou. Kamui and Kotori showed affection for each other at a very early age, which culminated in Kamui asking Kotori whether he could become her "bride". He sworn to Fūma to protect her and never make her cry, and in exchange Fūma promised to protect him. At the age of nine, Kamui left Tokyo with his mother Tōru and moved to Okinawa. They lived in relative peace for six years until Tōru's death. As Tōru burned alive, using her own power to prevent Kamui from saving her, she implored Kamui to return to Tokyo to seek his destiny. TV series director Yoshiaki Kawajiri decided not to explain his relation with his mother in the series' start to expand his cold demeanor. Kawajiri also pointed out that Kamui was a weak person because of how he expresses his emotions.

Upon his return, Kamui appears cold, ruthless, and unsympathetic but this is an act to drive Kotori and Fūma away in an attempt to protect them. Kamui's goal is to retrieve the Sacred Sword from the Togakushi Shrine and leave Tokyo as quickly as possible. Kamui comes into contact with Daisuke, Arashi, and Hinoto in quite abrasive manners, resulting in several pitched battles. Kamui ultimately chooses his destiny as one of the Dragons of Heaven, forcing Fūma to join with the Dragons of Earth.

Kamui has stated that his wish is to protect Fūma and to return him to his former self at all costs — even if he has to injure Fūma in order to accomplish this goal. However, the Dragon of Earth Kamui, who can see other peoples' wishes, states that this is not Kamui's true wish, and Kamui won't be able to win against him unless he realizes and changes his true wish. This is also given as the reason that Kamui is, as of yet, unable to generate a Spirit Shield in the manga. In the TV series he achieves his goal, though it cost him his own life, whereas in the movie Kamui decapitates Fūma, and remains the only character who stayed alive.

An alternate version of Kamui makes an appearance in Clamp's crossover series, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, as one of the vampire twins Seishirō is after. He leads the fighters of the City Hall faction (alternate versions of the Dragons of Earth) in a battle to protect their water source, although he is colder and is fiercely protective of his twin, Subaru. He is hostile towards the hunter siblings Seishirō and Fūma, especially Seishirō, who has been hunting for Subaru across various dimensions. In Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations, he is voiced by Mamoru Miyano in Japanese and Micah Solusod in English.

In the X Tarot set, he represents The Magician.

11.] Sasame [( Sasame) from the anime The Legend of the New Snow White - Pretear] is the Knight of Sound and has a job as a radio personality, addressing people's problems on the air. He is a reported flirt, with the other knights referring to him as a playboy, but he also is a good listener and offers himself as a sounding board to Himeno. In the manga, he remains a knight of leafe and appears to fall for Himeno. In the anime, he later becomes Fenrir's Knight of Darkness after confessing that he was in love with Takako 16 years ago, pitting him against the Leafe Knights and the Prétear. In the anime adaptation, his personality is changed to a quieter, more serious nature, and he is given an older appearance.

12.]  Future Trunks (from the anime Dragon Ball Series) is the first and most identified incarnation of the character that readers and viewers get to see would come to be known production wise as Future Trunks (未来のトランクス Mirai no Torankusu?, Trunks of the Future). This incarnation first appeared in the manga chapter 331 Nazo no Shōnen (謎の少年 The Young Boy of Mystery?) first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on July 15, 1991.[3] Here he is a mysterious seventeen year old who appears and singlehandedly kills Frieza and his father King Cold. Upon Goku's return from planet Namek in the following chapter, Trunks would confide with Goku and unknowingly to Piccolo, due to his acute Namekian hearing, his tragic story.

As told in flashbacks in the anime series, the stand alone manga story Trunks the Story: A Warrior All Alone (トランクスザストーリー -たったひとりの戦士- Trunks za Sutōrī -Tatta Hitori no Senshi-?),[4] the TV special History of Trunks, and the third side story Lonely Future Warrior!! Trunks (孤独の未来戦士!! トランクス Kodoku no Mirai Senshi!! Torankusu?),[5] Trunks had traveled from twenty years in the future where the world was in constant ruin due to the terror of the two artificial humans #17 and #18. By this time Goku had succumbed to an unknown heart virus and rest of the Z warriors, with the exception of Gohan, had fallen at the hands of the artificial humans. Trunks, at the age of thirteen, was living with Future Bulma and secretly training with Future Gohan. After Gohan's inevitable death, Trunks would assume the mantle of Earth's sole protector against the artificial humans for the next three years. But even he would be no match against them. Fortunately, Bulma had been working on a time machine that could help change history. Once he had informed Goku of the events to come, Trunks gives Goku a special vaccine and returns to his own time.

Trunks would return to help the present day Z warriors battle the artificial humans, in chapter 346 and episode 131. With appearance of Cell, Trunks would train with Vegeta in the Room of Time and Mind (Hyperbolic Time Chamber in English media). After Vegeta's defeat, Trunks would fight Cell in his newly gained Perfect state. But Trunks' 3rd Super Saiyan grade proved to be ineffective so he willfully concedes. He would participate in the Cell Games and be mortally wounded by Cell immediately following his ascension to "Beyond Perfection". Afterwards, he would return to his own timeline in the future and defeat the artificial humans and Cell within his time in chapters 419-420 and episodes 193.

He would appear one more time in the ninth Dragon Ball Z film Bojack Unbound to participate in the special Tenkaichi Budokai sponsored by Mr. X.S. Cash. Here he would unwillingly fight Bojack's henchman Gokua.
